Campus Outreach

The Campus Outreach Committee researches and secures ways in which Wings can engage effectively and meaningfully with the Johns Hopkins community and serves as the point of contact for on-campus groups seeking to collaborate with the organization. We partner with other Homewood-based organizations to host entertaining and engaging campus-wide events and invite key leaders and experts in the community and field to speak on campus.

Educational Outreach

The Educational Outreach Committee aims to provide knowledge, raise awareness, and foster meaningful conversations on menstruation, menstrual health and hygiene, and empowerment in the Johns Hopkins and Baltimore communities. By leading educational workshops and hands-on service events, we hope to make educational resources more accessible to those in need and destigmatize menstruation as a whole.

Community Outreach

The Community Outreach Committee works to establish meaningful partnerships with various individuals and organizations in the Baltimore community and looks for ways to strengthen existing relationships with current partners. We are always looking to take on new partnerships and seek out opportunities for Wings’ further engagement in the community. We also hope to connect with organizations in the D.C. area to get involved in the policy side of menstrual equity.

Sustainability

The Sustainability Committee researches and acquires eco-friendly, sustainable alternatives to single-use menstrual products for distribution to members of the Johns Hopkins and Baltimore communities and designs informational materials and events around the environmental aspects of menstrual management. We also act as the representative of Wings on all sustainability-related events, projects, and functions.

Publicity

The Publicity Committee generates all the unique promotional materials for Wings and maintains a strong online presence through the consistent use of social media and other platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and our website) — including flyers, digital signage, informational brochures, and newsletters — to boost overall visibility of the organization.
